Just something I picked up from a BF3 youtube video that I have tried and works well. I have had issues in past with my Javelin firing in a direct horizontal line to target. This strikes the target low or on the side and does much less damage than a direct strike raining straight down from heaven. Now I wait for a lock on then quickly point straight up and instantly fire. It's very easy to do and will launch your rocket very high before it slams down hard on your target. This can also help to keep your position concealed as the trail of smoke wont show what direction you fired from as easily. Try it, it's a blast :beard:

I wish dice implemented this as a game mechanic considering javelins have the option to fire straight up in the first place

The Javelin is definitely more powerful then the standard RPG/SMAW, however I feel like it is most useful when playing with a team planning to maximize it's potential. If a squad mate IS using the SOFLAM then I can basically launch it from across the map at ground AND air targets. Otherwise I actually prefer and have resorted back to using regular launchers for several reasons: (1) You can fire without waiting for a lock-on, many are using stealth now & seconds to lock on seem like forever (2) You don't warn the enemy with a lock signal that they're about to be fired on (3) You can use very effectively against infantry that takes cover (4) Plenty of ammo when using Explosives perk (5) Useful for enemy mine removal... I'm sure there are further uses but these reasons frequently present themselves in my experience. I would still love to try out a squad/Javelin attack strat sometime.

I find noob tubes to be an effective alternative to the rpgs as well. ;)

This was a common strat that I used in BF:BC2 with RPGs. I would hide behind buildings, lock onto a tank or chopper and then aim strait up and pop off my shot.
Works incredibly well.
