Is there anyway we could combine the requests for Avatars/Sigs/Other into one section?

I don't see the sense in splitting them up, it just requires more clicks and the potential for a request to go in the wrong section. I think it'll be readily apparent if a person is requesting one or the other in their topic.

Yeah I agree, but I would like a separate spot for website requests, they are important and it would really keep the chat off of it if it were restricted to HC webteam and media members

If it were restricted, how would people request stuff?

Hes talking about a separate section for website specific requests.

TBH, this is essentially what the department forums are for... So HC can yell at you and ask you nicely to do stuff. ;)

Haha yeah, Like I want a spot just for HC and Media members that people outside of those groups can't see, it gets kind of annoying when you have people that arent involved in whats being talked about say "Hey! Nice job on the work!" lol don't get me wrong, i love compliments but it's not the place for it

I know what you mean about "clutter" on forums, but I've never liked the "don't post unless you're xyz" rule. except in certain cases: The AC forums (which you can't actually see anymore unless you need to), the ban forums, and the announcement forums.

Otherwise, I think people should suck it up. Having that rule in someplace like the Tech Support forums is lame. Maybe someone genuinely knows stuff about computers and can help, but didn't apply to the department because he didn't want the extra responsibilities associated with it. So now he can't post? I always thought it was a little silly. Same with in the Media forums. I used to be IN Media, and I never minded going through an extra post or two worth of compliments to get to specific feedback from the client I was working for.

But that might be a personal thing. *shrug*

I don't really agree. You don't see people outside of ACCOM giving tests. You don't see people outside of Diplomacy forming alliances and pacts. You don't see people outside of intel gathering intel, you don't see people outside of security and HC monitoring the forums and you shouldn't see people outside tech support giving tech support.

Recruiting is the exception to that rule for obvious reasons.

So basically, consolidate the "Requests" subforums into one section and possibly create a Media Members section? Doesn't really have to be restricted, it can just be talk about tips/techniques and a spot for people to discuss things about photoshop/gimp/whatever you use.

The tech forums used to be a mess with everyone posting. The threads became 20 times longer and were filled with people who either didn't understand the problem or the same suggestions over and over. Someone who is in UAF and doesn't join a department to avoid responsibility gets no extra treatment.

The media has it's own forum called the Media Department. Same for all departments. The only departments that have a combined forum is Intel and Diplomacy. They need to be able to do co-ordination of effort so they have a place to do that.

No it was separated as a way to keep it from becoming too cluttered in one forum.

Ah I missed this, gotcha.

Ok thanks. Was just seeing if I could make it a little easier for me to see requests.

I know, it was changed to what it is now because one forum got too cluttered. Now that we are back to having a lot of active members it will be more apparent as to why it was done.
