Activity Requirements and Membership Status

Activity Requirements and Membership Status
Activity Requirements
Baseline Activity
These apply to all active duty members, regardless of division or rank.
• Check the forums once a week.
• Maintain an active presence on Discord and in-game. An active presence is defined as showing up at least once a week.

Additional Activity Requirements
Additional activity requirements are as follows:
• Commanding officers are expected to submit a report each week.
• Department staff are expected to carry out their duties consistently.
• All squad members regardless of rank are expected to attend weekly mandatory squad events, or inform their CO if they cannot make said event.

Mandatory Squad Events
Mandatory squad events are events that all squad members are required to attend. Real life does come first, so if you cannot make it to one to a mandatory squad event, let your squad leader know and you will be excused. A list of mandatory squad events are as follows:

Intra-Squad Events:
• Intra-squad events are events within a single squad. An example would be squad practices.
• Squads leadership must plan one mandatory intra-squad event per week. Squads leadership may exceed this limit with the permission of their immediate superior.
• Squad leadership is allowed plan one optional intra-squad event a week, and more with the consent of their squad members. These events will not count against your activity requirements.
• Intra-squad events times may not exceed one hour and thirty minutes.
• Intra-squad events must start at a reasonable time for all members, regardless of time zone. Reasonable times are considered to be no earlier than 3:00 PM and no later than 8:00 PM from Monday to Thursday, no earlier than 3:00 PM and no later than 10:00 PM on Fridays, no earlier than 10:00 AM and no later than 10:00 PM on Saturdays, and no earlier than 10:00 AM and no later than 8:00 PM on Sundays. Individual members may waive these times, but only for themselves and only if they want to.
You have a right as a member of the United Armed Forces to be in a squad that conforms to your time zone's reasonable times as outlined above, if possible.

Inter-Squad Events:
• Inter-squad events are mandatory, organized events within a platoon or division that include multiple squads. These types of events may only be organized by or with the permission of the platoon commander or division commander of the inovled squads.
Leave Notification
If an event (a vacation, for example) will be impacting your ability to fulfill your activity requirements, you can notify the rest of the community that you are going on leave by making a post in the leave forum. Please let us know how long you will be gone for, and why. If you do not wish to share why you are gone for personal reasons, that is okay.

If you will be gone more than three weeks, or you do not know how long you will be gone for, you should consider retirement instead. If you are unsure of which option to choose, talk to your commanding officer.

While on leave, you will not be required to fulfill any activity requirements.

Upon return, you must reply to your post in the leave forum, stating you have returned.

Retirement
Sometimes our lives change, and we no longer have the time we once did to stay active in the community. Maybe you have had enough of gaming for a little bit. Whatever the case, you can always retire.

As a retired member, you are still a member of the community and will keep your awards. However, upon retirement you will give up any executive positions you hold.

When you are retired you will not be in a squad or department.

Resignation
People who resign are leaving the community for good. Once you resign you are no longer a member of UAF. You will be stripped of your rank and awards, aside from any orders that you are a member of. Members have 48 hours to reverse their resignations before it becomes permanent.

AWOL
AWOL stands for Away WithOut Leave. Basically, if you disappear off the map and we have no idea what happened to you, then you will be considered AWOL. You will be considered AWOL when you go 1.5 to 2 weeks without contact with the community, OR if you are AWOL from two mandatory squad events in a row.

When you are considered AWOL, you will be booted from your squad and issued an infraction for violating rule 6.

After two weeks of being AWOL, one of two things will happen:
1. If you are a recruit or private (silver grade), you will simply be booted from the community.
2. If you are ranked higher than a private (silver grade), you will be retired from the active duty roster.

If you return before the two weeks are up, you will be placed back in your squad.
