I see now. I'll keep an eye out for them then and remove them as they appear.

I've noticed that there are more spammers, like with the jibberish names and such. Also the advertisers that were using there signatures for advertising their websites and such have dwindled and I haven't seen as many of them.

My bad, I had turned off the security measures because I was search engine optimizing the site and the security doesn't allow me to use any external programs to test and validate the optimization. I forgot to turn the security measures back on after I was done. Just remembered when I saw a ton of bots had logged in today.

I've turned it back on. Let me know if that makes a difference over the next few days.

Because Wolfcry forgot to turn the security back on after fiddling around with the website. They will be gone within the next hour or so.

    EDIT: All gone.

    Alright, news flash:

You might be wondering why the site/forums/teamspeak was down for a few hours today. At first I couldn't figure it out, I spent 16 hours trying to figure out why our CPU/RAM was going over 100 percent load.

I called support finally, because I was stumped and I hadn't slept in two days and couldn't think straight and they told me it wasn't only a problem on my end, there has been a global DDOS bot attack going on that's been affecting most people with blogs/forums all over the world.

I had installed/configured the anti bot security for the UAF forums but I hadn't done it for the other sites on the server, because I didn't think it was necessary, and it would take me a heck of a long time to do so and the security itself uses some resources on the server (Not as much as the bots though by far).

However, after talking to the host I decided to implement the security all across the board. Unfortunately at the time the load on the CPU/RAM was making the server crash so quickly I didn't have time to do it, so I shut the server off for a few hours and then turned it back on.

The load went immediately to 100 percent again and was very very slow, but it gave me just enough time to start going through all the scripts on the server and implementing the anti bot security.

Half way through, I began to feel a difference in speed and checked and the load was 50 percent on the server. When I was done a few hours later, I checked the load and it's now at:

3 Percent load on the CPU
    277 megs on the RAM

That's really good considering I'm running so much on the server.

I believe those bot attacks were what was overloading the RAM/CPU the past week or two causing the site and forums to be slow and server to crash.

Things should load a lot faster now. All sites are protected across the board.
Let me know if anything changes.

    Thanks.

More spammers this morning, my guess is that you forgot to turn the security thing back on after the website/forum/TS trouble yesterday. I'll delete them as they come through.

No I just tested it with a test query, it's in working order.
