    13. What are your first impressions of UAF? How did you hear about us? If you heard about us from a member please specify who!

I heard about UAF from JohnnyMacintosh's post on the Platoon Recruitment (PC) official forums on battlefield.com. My first impressions about UAF are mainly that it is a multinational clan, which really suits me, because I am currently in London, but should be moving to Australia in a few months; and that it is a clan with a mature spirit, and maintains a fun environment that minimizes any possibility of negativity or someone offending another. I also get the impression that the clan favors tactical play and good communications, while upholding that real-life commitments and responsibilities trump gaming. I've been playing BF3 for a long time, and just starting BF4, but I've prepared as best I could by investing hours in watching videos about BF4's weapons and tips specific to it, and tips on leveling up faster.

    14. Are you Male or Female?

    Male

    Oath Accepted

Please read this all the way through. It outlines what you need to do in order to become a full member of the clan and provides you with some useful information.

Welcome to the United Armed Forces! UAF is a well established clan always seeking new members to join our ever growing ranks of friendly, competitive and casual players. As a new recruit, we ask a few things from you in order to make your transition into the clan nice and smooth.

    Info For New People
You can find that info here, and don't forget to introduce yourself!

    Connecting to Teamspeak 3
Teamspeak is one of our main forms of communications, and you must be in Teamspeak while in game! This helps you meet the other members as well as communicate on the battlefield. Hop on as soon as you can so you can meet some of the people here! You can find the TS information here!

    Using Clan Tags
You are now a UAF Academy member, so use "[UAF]" as your in-game tags where possible!

    Becoming a Full Member
Right now you hold the rank of recruit, which is good and all but in order to vote and join a department you must become a private. You will be on a week-long probation period in which you must accomplish the following:
    • Make a welcome post here.
    • Join our battlelog platoon here.
    • Bump out recruitment thread here.
    • Play with other clan members in-game.
    • Stay active on the forums, TS and in-game.
    • Demonstrate teamwork ability and communication skills.
    • Demonstrate an understanding of the UAF Code of Conduct.

A lot of the above is pretty abstract, so as long as you stay active and give it your best shot then you should be all good!
    Don't screw up!

Thank you all, guys, for the welcome and the information that helped me get up and starting with the clan, without anyone having to correct me or remind me of things. I like to think that I did everything by the book, because I read the instructions carefully and took them seriously.

And I submitted my first battle report last night, and it “consummated” my promotion to Private. Uh, feels good to use fancy words relevantly. Hehe. ^^

Hope this helps some of the recent applicants and new members!

Thank you very much, Wolf. I'm glad to be with you, guys, too, for this is a wisely managed community. If anyone's path takes them away from UAF at some point, it will always be about incompatibility of paths or goals, rather than about good, bad, right, or wrong; because UAF really is managed wisely and a lovely place to be. I look forward to having a lot of fun with clannies through my gaming hours in the future!
